Last summer’s megahit game Pokémon Go was many Americans’ first introduction to the notion of “augmented reality,” in which artificial visuals are superimposed onto the real world. R Street Tech Policy Fellow Anne Hobson explored some of the policy implications of augmented reality in a recent policy study, including how it could affect cybersecurity, privacy, intellectual property and public safety.
