Luke Hammerman is an editorial assistant for the R Street Institute, where he works with R Street’s communications and editorial teams to track the institute’s media performance and assist in front-page management.

Luke joined R Street in December 2017, having most recently worked for RealClearPolitics, where he ran the health policy vertical RealClearHealth.com. In this role, he managed the editorial calendar and all social media, worked with think tanks to edit op-eds and aggregated the top health care stories daily.

Before his work for RealClear, Luke was the partnerships associate at Bulletin Healthcare and Bulletin Media. In that role, he handled the deadlines of 49 different email news briefings to members of professional medical and scientific associations, while tracking member engagement.

Luke graduated from Sarah Lawrence College, where he concentrated his studies on investigative journalism and creative nonfiction writing. During a year abroad at Kings College London, he studied Shakespeare and Jacobean literature, alongside religion and performance theory.

He lives in Wheaton, Maryland.
