Join Consumer Technology Association (CTA) for its sixth annual Innovation Policy Day (IPD) at SXSW in Austin, TX. Innovation Policy Day is a day-long summit that brings together a diverse group of panelists to discuss policies that impact the emerging and disruptive technologies changing the way we live and work.

9:30 AM: Opening remarks from Michael Kratsios, White House Office of Science and Technology Policy

9:45 AM: Robots & Machine Learning: Perils and Promise

This panel will explore the ideal roadmap for positive outcomes in AI including the policy principles for the industry, how AI will empower workers and how we can prepare for this next generation of the workforce.

10:30 AM: Resilient Cities: Scenario Planning Power Session

In the wake of a disaster, how do we bounce back quickly and insure long-term performance of critical infrastructure? Our panel of government leaders explore responses to emergency situations and share what they need to be successful.

11:00 AM: Building a 21st Century Workforce

This panel will discuss ways to encourage greater adoption of non-traditional educational pathways — such as apprenticeships, train-to-hire programs and internships — to introduce Americans to high-demand careers in tech and help our country build a competitive and fully-equipped 21st century workforce.

NOON: Lunch served

Virtual Reality Demonstration: Walmart will be hosting a virtual reality (VR) demonstration showcasing worker training software from noon to 2 PM.
