About Nicolas
Nicolas John was responsible for educating state and local lawmakers and executive-branch officials throughout the Northeast about R Street policy positions on harm reduction and a variety of other topics. He also worked to build broad coalition partnerships with other organizations.
Nicolas joined R Street from the office of Massachusetts State Rep. Stephen Kulik (D-Worthington), the vice chair of the Massachusetts House Committee on Ways and Means. Nicolas was Kulik’s chief of staff, working with legislators, state agencies and various interest groups to develop and implement the annual state budget. Earlier in his career, he was legislative director to Massachusetts State Rep. Linda Dean Campbell (D-Methuen), where he assisted the representative in developing and implementing her policy portfolio and built relationships with relevant legislators, agency staff and interest groups.
Nicolas graduated cum laude from Northeastern University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science. He lives in Boston.
