WASHINGTON (Sept. 13, 2012) — The R Street Institute is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Moylan as director of outreach and senior fellow, effective Sept. 24.

In this new role, Moylan will head R Street’s coalitions efforts with allied organizations, conduct original research and serve as the organization’s lead voice on tax issues, including Internet sales tax collection, as well as a variety of other duties.

“Andrew is a terrifically skilled person who I’ve been honored to work with on a variety of projects through the years,” said R Street President Eli Lehrer. “He brings a unique collection of skills, talents and connections to R Street, where I’m sure he will continue his spectacularly good work.”

Moylan most recently served as vice president of government affairs for the National Taxpayers Union, where he lobbied on both state and federal issues and built broad coalitions to support pro-taxpayer energy policy, government transparency and eliminating wasteful spending.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join the R Street team,” Moylan said. “I’ve known Eli for years and have tremendous respect for him and the rest of the staff that have made it a top-notch organization. I look forward to bringing my mix of outrage and pragmatism to R Street’s free market policy and outreach efforts.”

A graduate of the University of Michigan, Andrew previously served with the Cato Institute’s Center for Educational Freedom. His writing as appeared in Wall Street Journal, The Washington Times, Investor’s Business Daily and Forbes, among other publications.
