R Street Institute names Lauren Rollins editorial manager
WASHINGTON (June 13, 2017) – The R Street Institute today announced the addition of Lauren Rollins as editorial manager, responsible for editing all of R Street’s grant and policy proposals and managing its editorial calendar of white papers.
Lauren previously served as editorial manager of English Literary Renaissance, an academic journal of early modern literature and culture based at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and as an instructor at Holyoke Community College’s Gateway-to-College Program, where she taught English and social justice primarily to at-risk and urban students. Before her life in higher education, she was a trademark paralegal at an intellectual property law firm in the D.C. area.
“I’m excited to join this team and to work among such creative, knowledgeable and results-driven people,” said Rollins. “Coalition building can seem like a lost art in today’s political climate and R Street’s efforts in that regard make it uniquely effective.”
She is in the final stages of completing her doctorate in English at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, which focuses on populist movements and political engagement among the “commons” in late 16th and early 17th century England; sea-dog naval piracy; and early modern drama. She also has a master’s degree in English from Georgetown University and bachelor’s degrees in English and political science from George Mason University.
