WASHINGTON (Feb. 1, 2016) – The R Street Institute has announced the addition of Ian Adams as senior fellow, responsible for overseeing matters related to insurance and next generation transportation, including policy surrounding autonomous vehicles and ridesharing.

Adams is rejoining R Street, having previously served as the group’s Western region director. He was most recently a public policy associate at the international law firm of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, where he maintained a national insurance regulatory practice.

“We are pleased to have Ian rejoin us at R Street,” said R Street Institute President Eli Lehrer. “His work on policy relating to both insurance and next generation technology will be a huge asset, strengthening R Street’s already robust work on these issues.”

“I’m delighted to be back at R Street,” said Adams. “This is a homecoming, of sorts, and I’m pleased to be in a position to further R Street’s work toward ensuring outdated, overbearing regulatory structures are not standing in the way of technological innovation.”

Ian is a graduate of Seattle University, with bachelor’s degrees in history and philosophy, and received his law degree from the University of Oregon. He is a member of the California and Illinois bars.

Ian lives in a suburb of Sacramento, California with his wife, Ruth Yang.
