Analysis Building infrastructure by walking across ideological lines
Talk of infrastructure is in the air, as President Donald Trump and his advisors call for $1 trillion in investment and Democrats propose their own wish lists. Is there an artful deal to be struck? The R Street Institute hosted a recent conversation (which I moderated) on bipartisan solutions to get the economy moving and let those who benefit fund transportation.
The panel featured:
- Christopher Leinberger, the Charles Bendit Distinguished Scholar and Research Professor and chair of the Center for Real Estate & Urban Analysis at the George Washington University School of Business;
- Robert Puentes, president and CEO of the Eno Center for Transportation;
- Christopher Coes, vice president of real estate policy and external affairs at Smart Growth America; and
- Salim Furth, research fellow in macroeconomics at the Heritage Foundation.
