Sanders on the future of conservatism
R Street Outreach Director and Policy Analyst Lori Sanders took part last month in a panel sponsored by the Future 500 on the future of conservatism. Moderated by Nick Sorrentino, the group’s director of political outreach, the panel took on such questions as how conservative leaders can make their case to young people, what the role of libertarianism is in the conservative movement and whether conservatism can appeal beyond its traditional white, suburban base, and expand into new, less white, less suburban communities. Other panelists included Norman Singleton, vice president for policy at the Campaign for Liberty; Stephen K. Bannon, filmmaker and host of Breitbart News Sunday; Voices Empower founder Alice Linahan; and Brittany Morrett of LIBRE.
